About me

Jodhpur, India 2008

I love to travel and I wish more Americans would do it.  The goal of this blog is to inspire others to travel and to pursue their own passions. As St. Augustine wrote, “The world is a book and those who do not travel have only read one page.”

My expertise comes from nearly three years of serving as Peace Corps volunteer in Zambia from 2003 to 2005, and from my travels since then to various regions in the developing world.

I’m dedicating this blog:

  • to those who are trapped in the rat race
  • to those who have not experienced the world as a traveler
  • to those who want more out of this life than the status quo

Joey, I’m LOVING your blog!!! I just need to get a nice cup of coffee and spend some time reading all of it! You are so right! EVERYONE should take some time and travel the world… and not just the tourist traps, but some of the most beautiful and obscure places and meet the locals… Such and eye opening experience! Though I love traveling and have traveled to some awesome places, you inspire me to travel MORE! 🙂
    XOXO-Vy

Thanks, Vy! Inspiring people to travel more is exactly why I started this blog in the first place. Most people have no clue how meaningful, satisfying and impactful traveling can be in their lives. I really wish more people would do it.
